Why ATEX Forensics
Enterprise System transformations are very different from
traditional applications implementations. Their failures are
mainly due to the lack of proper understanding and
management of all the critical interdependencies between
the elements of these solutions.
The benefits of vendor-provided integration results in tight
interdependencies between all solution components such as
embedded best practice business processes, application
configuration, data management, security profiles, and
technology infrastructure.
Surrounding the technical implementation are the equally
critical organizational requirements for management's
commitment to the impacts of such transformations as well
as the need for the timely readiness of all the staff
affected.
ATEX experts have a deep understanding of these critical
interdependencies. Each expert brings over 20 years of
hands-on experience successfully managing such large
scale, global transformations through all the phases of the
implementation life cycle, from initial strategy and
planning, through product and consultant selection
acquisition and program startup all the way to the final Go
Live and the required operational support and maintenance.
Our experts have gained a unique perspective on the risks
and factors influencing the success of enterprise
transformations by having over 20 years experience
implementing as clients, over 10 years experience
managing such transformations as consultants and over 7
years experience analyzing failed implementations as
forensics experts.
As clients, they have gained an understanding of the
internal corporate pressures and challenges of such
business transformations including adapting to COTS-
based solutions from highly customized internal legacy
solutions.
As consultants, they have experienced and successfully
managed the often conflicting requirements arising from
the contractual arrangements with the client’s, the client's
sometimes excessive expectations of the consulting
organization's services, the constraints imposed by the
COTS product functionality and their vendors’ support and
development organizations and the internal business
drivers of a consulting organization.
As forensics experts, analyzing failed implementations,
they have gained a unique insight on the root causes for
systems and program failures. They have learned to
identify the key patterns and anti-patterns (the lack of
specific patterns) required for the success of large systems
implementations.
